Proficiency in motor imagery is linked to the lateralization of focused ERD patterns and beta PDC
Motor imagery based brain-computer interfaces (MI-BCIs) detect the mental rehearsal of movement from brain activity signals (EEG) for controlling devices that can enhance motor neurorehabilitation. This study investigates EEG features to propose indicators of successful MI training, revealing that proficient users show greater α ERD on the right-hand motor cortex and changes in β and γ PDC during motor imagery.
